View Parqet Sub-Accounts Separately: Every Broker Depot on iPhone and Apple Watch

If you hold several depots at the same broker — a long-term ETF depot next to a trading depot at ING, say, or one depot per family member under a single login — parqet.com imports them as one portfolio with several sub-accounts. That’s tidy, but until now every app surface showed you only the lump sum: one total, one return, one chart. The question you actually had — how is the ETF depot doing, on its own? — went unanswered on your wrist and your Home Screen.

PulseFolio’s latest update fixes exactly that. You can now view any Parqet sub-account on its own, combine any subset of them, and rename them — and the selection works on every surface: iPhone dashboard, Apple Watch app, watch complications, and Lock/Home Screen widgets.

Pick a single sub-depot

Open the portfolio picker in the iPhone app and portfolios with sub-accounts get an expander. Unfold one and its sub-depots appear as rows underneath — tap one and the whole app switches to it: performance, holdings, dividends, allocation, and the chart all show just that depot.

The numbers are not approximations. PulseFolio asks Parqet to filter server-side, so what you see for a sub-depot is exactly what Parqet itself would compute for it — no client-side summing, no rounding drift against the website.

One honest caveat: the activity feed. Parqet’s API doesn’t filter activities by sub-account, so the Activities list keeps showing the parent portfolio’s full feed, with a caption reminding you of the scope you’re in. Everything else — value, gain, return, holdings, dividends, allocation, chart — is genuinely scoped.

Combine two or more

Sometimes the view you want isn’t one sub-depot and isn’t all of them either — it’s these two. The picker’s Combine sub-accounts… option opens a sheet where you select any subset and view it aggregated as one. Select every sub-depot and PulseFolio quietly collapses that back to the plain portfolio selection — which also includes any holdings the broker never attributed to a specific sub-depot, so the total stays honest.

If this sounds familiar, it’s the mirror image of the consolidated portfolios feature: that one merges portfolios upwards into a bigger picture; sub-accounts split one portfolio downwards into its parts. You can now move in both directions.

Rename them — because imports won’t

Broker imports routinely deliver sub-depots with identical or cryptic names. In the portfolio picker’s Edit mode you can rename any sub-account, and the custom name follows it everywhere — picker, dashboard, watch, complications, widgets. “Kids ETF” reads a lot better on a corner complication than a duplicated account title.

On your watch face too

A sub-account selection is a first-class citizen: pick a sub-depot (or a combination) for your watch complication or iPhone widget and it renders that scope, exactly like a full portfolio would. Your trading depot can live in one corner of the watch face and the family ETF depot in another.

Two smaller changes are worth knowing about:

  • The headline gain now tells the whole story. Parqet splits an interval’s money gain into unrealized gains, realized gains, and dividends. PulseFolio used to show only the first — so if you sold a position during the period, the gain could look sharply negative while your return percentage said otherwise. All three parts are now summed, and the trend arrow follows the actual money gain.
  • Better readability on the Apple Watch. Green and red trend colors are now noticeably more vivid on the always-black OLED display, and secondary text is brighter — small digits stop looking washed out.

How to use it

  1. Update to the latest PulseFolio from the App Store.
  2. Open the portfolio picker on the iPhone and expand a portfolio that has sub-accounts.
  3. Tap a sub-depot to view it alone, or choose Combine sub-accounts… for a subset.
  4. Optionally rename sub-accounts in Edit mode, and assign one to a complication or widget.
