Pecuniator on macOS — Holdings with Regions sidebar, logos, and Type column

Features

Compare Two Funds Side by Side

Load two parqet X-Ray exports and instantly see how they overlap — the holdings they share, what each fund holds that the other doesn’t, and where their weights really differ. Enter a portfolio amount, or sync it from parqet, to see the real value behind every position. A Summary tab totals the shared exposure by weight and by value. As always, everything stays on your device.

Built-in ISIN Reference Database

Over 804,000 ISINs ship inside the app. Automatically detects bonds and stocks, populates the Type column, and works entirely offline. Classification is editable — override any entry with a click.

Three-Way Filter: All, Bonds, Stocks

Switch instantly between all holdings, bonds only, or stocks only. The same three-way switch sits in the toolbar, the menu bar, and the sidebar — the view you need is always one click away.

Optional Enrichment via OpenFIGI

Bring your own free OpenFIGI API key to enrich holdings globally with additional instrument metadata. Strictly opt-in — the app never contacts any external service unless you turn it on.

Company Logos (Optional)

Show company logos via elbstream.com, cached locally and refreshed automatically. Smart placeholder detection hides generic icons, and every import automatically re-checks previously missing logos so new ones appear as they become available. Fully opt-in, configurable in Settings.

CSV Import with Drag & Drop

Drop a parqet X-Ray export onto the app, or any CSV with a header row of ID, holding, shares, and value (semicolons or commas; dot or comma decimals). A progress indicator keeps you informed while large files import safely.

FAQ

What does the name 'pecuniator' mean?

It is a fantasy name from the Latin 'pecunia = money'. It starts with 'p', like 'parqet', and the app is secure and will never transmit any data over the network.

What's new in the latest version?

Pecuniator 7.4.0 (June 2026) adds the Compare view — load two parqet X-Ray exports side by side to see exactly where two funds or portfolios overlap: the holdings they share, what is unique to each, and how the weights differ, across In both, Only in A, Only in B, and Summary tabs. Enter a portfolio amount or sync it from parqet to value every position, and the Summary tab totals the shared exposure by weight and by value. As always, nothing leaves your device. Everything from earlier releases stays in place: the built-in ISIN reference database (804,000+ entries) with automatic bond/stock detection, the three-way filter (All / Bonds / Stocks), country and region visualization, optional OpenFIGI enrichment, optional company logos via elbstream.com, locale-aware currency and number formatting, drag-and-drop CSV import, and Excel export. Pecuniator is a local-first desktop app for macOS and Windows.

Do I need an API key or internet connection?

No. Pecuniator's core analysis — import, ISIN decoding, country and region breakdown, filtering, and Excel export — runs fully offline with the built-in database. The OpenFIGI enrichment and company-logo modules are strictly opt-in and can be enabled in the Settings window if you choose to.

How does the Bonds/Stocks filter work?

The built-in reference database classifies each ISIN as a bond or a stock and fills the Type column automatically. The toolbar, menu bar, and sidebar all offer the same three-way switch: All, Bonds, or Stocks. If an entry is classified incorrectly, simply edit the Type column — your override is remembered.

Why is the program a desktop application?

parqet.com has strict data protection requirements, and we don't want to compromise this principle. We prefer not to handle any third-party data, so we made the tool a desktop app only. This way, no data is ever transmitted over the network.

Does it work without parqet.com?

Yes, it does. You can easily import and analyze any CSV file, as long as it includes a header line with four fields separated by either semicolons or commas. For example, 'ID;holding;shares;values' is a valid format.

What does 'CC' mean in the exported spreadsheet?

'CC' stands for 'Country Code'.

Is the program actively maintained?

Yes. Pecuniator is actively developed for macOS and Windows. Version 7.4.0 (June 2026) added the side-by-side Compare view for two funds or portfolios. New features may be added, especially as parqet considers its own API. Pecuniator is designed to provide extra features that complement parqet.com.

Why does the app cost money on the stores?

Developing software takes time, especially when aiming to distribute it through secure channels. The fee is reasonable and encourages further development and support.
