Data Processing in the PulseFolio App

PulseFolio is a companion app that displays your Parqet portfolio performance on your Apple Watch and iPhone. All portfolio data is retrieved directly from the official Parqet API on your behalf and stored locally on your Apple devices. No personal data is collected, stored, or transmitted to any servers operated by us.

  • Purpose: Display of portfolio value, gain/loss, and return metrics on your own Apple Watch and iPhone.
  • Legal Basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of contract) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a reliable, on-device portfolio view).

Parqet API Connection

PulseFolio connects directly from your iPhone and Apple Watch to the official Parqet API (parqet.com). Portfolio data, such as values, gain/loss, return percentages, and the time period you configured, is retrieved on demand and on a periodic background refresh schedule during market hours. This data flows directly between your Apple devices and Parqet — it does not pass through any intermediary or servers operated by us.

OAuth 2.0 Authentication (PKCE)

Authentication to your Parqet account uses the OAuth 2.0 authorization code flow with PKCE. You enter your Parqet credentials directly on the official Parqet login page inside a secure system web view. PulseFolio never sees, stores, or transmits your Parqet password. After successful authentication, Parqet issues access and refresh tokens that PulseFolio uses to request your portfolio data on your behalf.

Credential Storage (iCloud Keychain)

OAuth access and refresh tokens are stored in the iCloud Keychain on your Apple devices. The iCloud Keychain is an Apple service protected by end-to-end encryption; we have no access to its contents. Tokens sync between your iPhone and Apple Watch via the secure, encrypted iCloud Keychain channel so that both devices can access your Parqet data independently.

Local Data Processing

Portfolio values, return metrics, time period selections, and other configuration are stored locally on your devices and shared between iPhone and Apple Watch through the standard WatchConnectivity framework. PulseFolio does not upload this data to any external servers.

No User Accounts or Tracking

PulseFolio does not require a PulseFolio account (your Parqet account is your only login), does not create user profiles, and does not track your usage behavior. We do not collect analytics data about how you use the app.

Diagnostics, Crash Reports, and Logs

If the app generates crash reports or diagnostic data, these are used exclusively for error analysis. If you have enabled "Share with App Developers" in iOS settings, Apple may forward anonymized crash reports to us through App Store Connect.

Current Status: No third-party analytics. Should this change, this policy will be updated and providers will be named.

Third Parties

The only third party PulseFolio communicates with is the official Parqet API, and only for the purpose of retrieving the portfolio data you have explicitly authorized via OAuth. For details on how Parqet processes your data, please consult the Parqet privacy policy.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection, and data portability in accordance with legal requirements. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, particularly in the member state of your residence, workplace, or the place of alleged infringement. You can revoke PulseFolio's access to your Parqet account at any time — either by signing out within the app or by revoking the authorization in your Parqet account settings.

Children

The app is not specifically directed at children. No special categories of personal data according to Art. 9 GDPR are processed.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We will update this privacy policy if processing or legal requirements change. The current version is always available at this URL.
